Welcome to KickstartCommerce.com! Let me guess. Your website is not allowing you to update WooCommerce Product Attributes, right?

Or, if not WooCommerce, then maybe you’re encountering all sorts of javascript errors with a site that is severely hobbled in functionality, if not completely dead in the water and not functioning at all.

Whether you have plugins beefing with plugins or themes beefing with plugins, I aim to help you rehabilitate your WordPress website back in order, functioning, and in tip-top shape.

How to setup Shiny Server reverse proxy via RoseHosting (Virtual Private Server) VPS

Recently, a customer of 15+ years contacted me requesting technical assistance in regards to an upcoming book launch.

In the book, the customer references a few links that are to redirect readers to a website of on-page apps containing interactive charts and graphs. Readers are able to visit website, add their own data, and then view the same data as well as adjust the data using charting and graphing controls.

To achieve the interactive charting and graphing functionality for each app on website, this customer chose to use Shiny Server from RStudio.com. I had not realized the full capability of the RStudio service offering as a robust professional data science solution for reporting.

Nevertheless, the customer contacted me because they preferred not to use RStudio Connect and Shinyapps.io in favor of desiring to use Shiny Server Pro. However, the one catch with using Shiny Server Pro is that it requires a Linux Server — this customer is a Windows shop. 😳

RoseHosting Web Services

Having developed hundreds of websites for others as well as my own, I have had my fair share of experiences with a wide range of web hosting providers.

I’ve hosted sites with Bluehost, HostGator, InMotion, Hostway, DreamHost, HostMonster, and GoDaddy. All have their pros and cons, and hacked experiences.

GoDaddy and Bluehost were once my go-to web hosting providers. I still have a few personal-developed websites and projects that use GoDaddy shared hosting, but my go-to web hosting providers this season are A2Hosting and RoseHosting.

For one, they offer way more affordable manage hosting virtual private server plans with greater scalability and performance than all previously used web hosting providers. I love the increased performance my websites have realized with SSD (A2Hosting) and NVMe (RoseHosting) storage. And don’t get me started about their quicker-than-lightning customer support experience — the team is so personable and knowledgeable.

Quite honestly, I’m willing to pay more for customer support, and managed services, and simply not to be ‘nickeled and dimed’ for every little thing and service offering.

While I love both A2Hosting and RoseHosting, I was reminded the other day about my experience of attempting to SSH into my RoseHosting environment.

It’s hard to believe a year has passed since MERGE! burst onto the scene in its inaugural debut.

Request or Delegate Access to GoDaddy Account

August 31, 2018 No Comments

Seems like every few weeks or months I receive an inquiry about how to share or whether or not it’s possible to delegate access to a given GoDaddy Account.

There are a number of reasons for delegating access to a GoDaddy Account. Often times delegating access to GoDaddy account helps those of us that manage many customers to centralize and become efficient.

In addition, customers often prefer to have their very own GoDaddy account (highly recommended) as opposed to a paying a 3rd party person that likely co-mingles products and services in one account with multiple customers.

Over a decade or so ago, I would attempt to manage a spreadsheet of customer logins for GoDaddy accounts.

GoDaddy Tests Small Business Website Failover Plans.

August 7, 2018 No Comments
Written by: Alvin Brown

Here we are closing out a Tuesday with Hump Day fast approaching, and GoDaddy has found a way to bring small business websites throughout the world using their WordPress and Classic web hosting packages to a complete halt.

I knew something went wrong when I received a flurry of emails close to 5 PM EST about a number of customer websites being down.

I didn’t pay much attention because I saw most were back up in 5 minutes or less.

Then came the knockout punch some 15 minutes later when every last customer website I support was displaying the dreadful WordPress error message:
