Hey, Kickstart community!

A lot of time has passed since our last tutorial, but this one is too important not to share. Today, we’re tackling a common issue: fixing a domain registered at GoDaddy that isn’t forwarding properly.

Whether you’re new to domain registration or, like me, frequently purchase expired domains at auction, you might run into this frustrating error when trying to use GoDaddy’s domain forwarding services: Your attempt to forward domain(s) has failed.  Please retry, if the problem persists contact support, 1-480-505-8877.

GoDaddy domain forwarding error

Calling GoDaddy support is always an option, but I prefer solving these things myself when possible. After some trial and error, I found a simple and effective fix: change the nameservers to GoDaddy Nameservers.

Buying expired domains from GoDaddy often comes with the previous owner’s nameservers set, which are usually not GoDaddy Nameservers. These nameservers are usually set to GoDaddy’s parking service (e.g., ns01.cashparking.com, ns02.cashparking.com).

If you’re not sure how to change GoDaddy domain nameservers, don’t worry! Here’s an easy-to-follow tutorial on editing your domain nameservers.

Once you set your domain’s nameservers to GoDaddy’s default settings, it should resolve the forwarding issue.

Give this a try, and it should do the trick! If you have any further questions or additional tips, comment below. Happy domain forwarding!
