Flipping a Travel-Related Domain for $15K and Launching CatchService.com During Economic Downturn with Rez Memon
Written by: Alvin Brown

What if I told you that it was possible to purchase a domain prior to COVID for $2.5K and flip it 4.5 months in the midst of an abyss of uncertainty for $15K, what would you say? 🤨

And what if I told you it was a travel-related domain? 😲  Yeah, I know, shocking right? I had the same jaw-dropping reaction to when I discovered this news a few days ago.

The good news is we get to chat with the magician who “pulled this proverbial rabbit of a domain out of hat.” As for the bad news, don’t expect nor should you go and try this move yourself. 😉

Page Howe and Team Make Virtual Splash with TheDomainShow.com

The Domain Show 2020 Recap
Written by: Alvin Brown

The domain industry chartered into new and virtual territory with the debuting of the first ever digital investors online conference sponsored by Dan.com: TheDomainShow.com.

It’s Founder and Executive Producer, Page Howe, is no stranger to the industry, investing in domains for 20+ years, having sold 5,000+ domains (most notably sold Seniors.com for $1.8M), and once known for his domain tip sheets, emoji domain investing, and occasional DomainSherpa appearances through the years.

As all eyes were on Page and team, industry professionals eagerly awaited and anticipated what the shift would be like from a paid in-person to a free virtual conference experience spanning three days, July 23-25.

There were many questions to be answered from the time it was announced in early April:

  • What would be the format of the show?
  • Who and want would be presented?
  • Would sessions be live, pre-recorded, or both?
  • How would the show address time zone challenges?
  • and many more…

The Hidden World of Drop Catching, Appraising ccTLDs, .IO Popularity and more with Steve Webb

A person’s entry into the vast wilderness of domain investing likely passes the through the gate of mostly hearing, seeing, and investing in .com, .net, and .org.

While an unknown percentage of domain investors have packed their bags and headed even further west in hopes of striking profitable domain glory with the supposed second-coming of the domain land grab of new top-level domain extensions (new TLDs), quite a few stayed behind and settled into what has become a nice source of revenue: investing in country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs).

From the decades of Ron Jackson’s success with .us to Raymond Hackney pioneering .tv sales, a growing number of young upstarts are making a way for themselves buying and selling a variety of ccTLD domains.

Add to Cart and Advanced Search are Latest Features in GoDaddy Domain Investor App Update
Written by: Alvin Brown

It really is becoming Christmas in July, somewhat. The good news is GoDaddy recently released a long needed and awaited updated to its search and buy domains in bulk functionality.

The bad news is that our economy continues playing a deadly game of red-light, green-light with a pandemic of a lifetime: COVID-19. But for now, let’s focus on the good.

GetCheckApp.com: Bridging the gap between the people and government — with Michael Odiari

Did you know that 83% of persons of color have their first experience with law enforcement by way of a traffic stop? 🚨🤔

That’s staggering when compared to the single percent reporting of white persons having encountered law enforcement for the first time by way of traffic stop.

With the world living in and out the tensions in social upheaval regarding racial injustice and police brutality, a startup, Check Borromean Enterprisess, LLC (also known as “Check” and “Check App”) is poised to provide accountability and trust as it emerges with a solution that truly bridges the gap of communication between the people and government — building unity while building relationships.

Fix: Mailchimp RSS Feed Not Working for Blogger.

July 15, 2020 No Comments
Written by: Alvin Brown

A few years ago, I released a WordPress tutorial aimed at helping individuals and small businesses automate emailing their latest blog post to their Mailchimp email distribution list.

If you’re like most individuals or small businesses, especially mom and pop shops, then IT is likely to be perceived a luxury rather than necessity.

Most people launching into their dream of a business — side hustles, part-time, full-time and all things in between — are solely focused on doing the actions to bring value and serve their customers while making cash register ring! Ka-ching!

Nevertheless, one of the hidden secrets to growing a business or project is harnessing the power of automation to reach, connect, and serve more people with a value-add experience.

While my aforementioned tutorial provides instructional steps integrating WordPress and Mailchimp, this tutorial really applies to any blog platform with RSS capability.

It was brought to my attention that Mailchimp was unable to send email using excerpts or short descriptions from Blogger, a popular blogging platform used as a starter for a number of bloggers and influencers, and its RSS feed.

How Yogi Solanki Has Sold 15+ Domains in 60 Days
Written by: Alvin Brown

It’s not everyday that we stumble upon a domain investor that’s kicking butt and taking names with undeniable daily domain sales.

And if the domain investor is achieving such daily sales, then they have likely been at for years, if not decades.

Now what if I told you it was possible to not only achieve daily domain sales 3-4 times your investment cost, and you could do so having only been introduced to domain investing 60 days ago. What would you think, say and do?
