When launching a new website, driving traffic to your website can be a challenging experience to say the least.

From pay-per-click or PPC advertising to banner ads to expired domains, just to name a few, there are a quite a few methods to consider when buying website traffic.

The biggest question I receive the most from customers is which method is the most cost-effective, yet will return the biggest results in terms of shear traffic volume and conversions?

As I’m sure you have experienced when increasing website traffic, most website owners find that it takes three or four times as long as thought to increase organic website traffic from a variety of resources.

From personal experience, I’ve found success in buying website traffic to supplement my SEO efforts to increase organic website traffic.

There are many online sources for buying website traffic, good and bad.

In today’s post, I want to focus on pay-per-click or PPC advertising, and how you can use PPC advertising as an effective tool to drive instant website traffic and increase your organic website traffic along the way.

Open any web browser and use the Internet, I’m willing to bet you will come into contact with pay-per-click advertising (PPC) at some point during you web usage.

You see pay-per-click ads on top, bottom, and to the right of all pages in search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo as well as social media websites, Facebook to be more exact.

Pay-per-click advertising, also known as ppc advertising or search marketing — a more search engine optimization common or generalized name — is an effective method and internet advertisement system to drive profitable and targeted traffic to one’s website.

In today’s post, I hope to shed a little light on the pay-per-click advertising, and how to effectively use pay-per-click advertising in such a way that you can make it a profitable search marketing method to drive and convert targeted traffic.

How do I get my website to start ranking better for certain keywords in search engines? 

I see all this talk about head and long tail keywords and don’t quite understand it.

What I do know and see is that my competitors are ranking on the first page for multiple keywords, and I want to achieve the same.

The question and statements are quite common amongst website owners desperately wanting their websites to be highly visible and ranking in search engines for highly competitive keywords.

I’m sure you long for the same success as relates to your website, if not more.

Surely, if you have been around search engine optimization (SEO) or other search marketing methods, such as pay-per-click advertising (PPC), then you understand the importance of keywords and their impact on your search engine rankings and placement at surface level.

Indeed, keywords are important in regards to search engine rankings.  However, you don’t want to spin your wheels on highly competitive and expensive keywords to never convert.

As I mentioned in our recent post, 5 Practical SEO Tips to Increase Traffic, it is imperative for your business to start search engine optimization (SEO) on a firm foundation.

There are many on-page and off-page facets of SEO to focus upon.

When engaging with customers, I can’t stress the importance of having a solid and intimate understanding of practical SEO.

Know the difference between good and sound SEO principles versus bad and detrimental SEO principles.  And yes there can be a fine line between the two SEO types.

Take a moment and step back when SEO gets blurry or confusing as to what is right or wrong.  Stop, collect yourself and diligently seek honest information when this occurs.

Spike Lee said it best, “Do the right thing!”  Do the honest and for sure thing that is right (white-hat SEO), even if it will take you a longer time to see results.
