I invite you to read and share each PPC post within this round-up with your professional and social networks.

All in all, this PPC round-up is sure to help you avoid common PPC pitfalls as well as shed light on techniques and tactics that you may not have ever thought about or been exposed to.

108 Actions To Increase Website Traffic and Search Rankings

How can I increase my website’s traffic and search rankings?

This is the most common question I hear from potential and existing customers looking to gain an edge in search rankings and generate more qualified traffic.

And of course, no matter how I try, there is never enough time to sum up all of the SEO actions one can take to increase website traffic and search rankings.

For those who use WordPress, I simply recommend a few general settings changes and the installation of Yoast or All-In-One Webmaster plugins for starters.

Then there are those who have a static website I recommend content marketing via blogs and articles.

And let us not be quick to forget or diminish the value of social media networks.

Out of all the thoughts previously mentioned, we are barely scratching the surface in addressing the 200+ search ranking factors.

In addition to fielding potential and existing customer SEO questions, I’ve personally had a chance to document the process for creating, developing, and sustaining a few niche websites I’ve started in recent weeks.

I tried my very best to document the 108 actions I’ve used and followed, per my SEO guideline.

Using this exhaustive list of proven SEO actions, every small business owner (that’s you!) can execute these actions on an ongoing basis to increase website traffic and search rankings in hopes of capturing qualified customers.

So if you’re ready, let’s get started!

Why your business should invest in semantic search

December 2, 2014 No Comments

Search is a forever changing beast of algorithms, tips, tricks and fads all to obtain the “holy grail” page one search rankings and traffic to boost one’s business.

For local business owners, search has definitely been taking many zigs and zags with the dismissal of Google Authorship, increased focus on Mobile search, and now semantic search with Google Hummingbird.

All of the above mentioned concepts have directly and indirectly impacted the SEO efforts of local business owners.

For local business owners seeking to gain ground in local and mobile search, it’s best to ensure that your website’s design and architecture is one that is responsive, both search- and user-friendly, to the variety of devices viewing your website.

Responsive design and architecture is only a start in addition to creating a sound content marketing strategy that engages and educates your customers.

One SEO area that’s worth mentioning for local business owner’s to focus on is semantic search.

Are new domain extensions as unique as their predecessors?

GoDaddy New Domain Extensions.
Written by: Alvin Brown

And so it goes, I’ve been on the fence about the new domain extensions since hearing about their arrival to the domain market mid to late 2012.

I’ve closely followed the opinions of Mike Berkens, Morgan Linton, Page Howe, Rick Schwartz, and a host of others on a weekly basis.

All in all, I’ve been on the fence about the new domain extensions and their positive or negative impact.

My original thoughts were that ICANN had lost its mind and was off its rocker to allow such a massive tsunami of new domain extensions to confuse hit the market in an already seemingly working system of domain extensions.

But then again, and in my humble opinion, releasing new domain extensions is a pure money grab for ICANN.

However, as of late, one thought I’ve toyed with is based on the uniqueness the new domain extensions bring to the domain market and their impact on SEO and Search.

Just hear me out for a minute before calling me crazy. Okay, so here’s my thought…

Is Ebola.com really worth $150,000?

October 16, 2014 No Comments
Written by: Alvin Brown

Sometimes you can do more harm trying to sell a domain during a news frenzy, than any other time.

I make this statement based on perusing various domaining news bytes and coming across an article entitled, “‘Ebola.com’ can be yours for $150,000”.

The article, written by CNBC’s Jeff Daniels, focuses on Jon Schultz, the owner of premium domain Ebola.com, and his interest to sell the domain name after purchasing it for an undisclosed amount in 2008.
