Don’t ask me how this happened, but I had a customer operating and measuring their SEO effort using multiple Google Webmaster Accounts.

How and when this happened, no one truly knows. But today, I’ll best guess how this confusion occurred.

For the last 11 months, I’ve consulted and performed various SEO tasks for a customer. We’ve used heavily used Google Webmaster Tools to gauge SEO progress related to their efforts and my SEO Audit efforts.

Imagine the shock when I found out that we were not looking at the same webmaster accounts yet viewing 3 separate accounts for their domain.

Yes, it happened, and my hope is that this post can prevent it from happening to your website.

Let me start by saying that as much guest posting and blogging craze that there is all over the web, I’m not real big on guest posts and blogs, period.

I’ll tell you why, but first a customer story.

If only I could rank #1 on page one of Google…

This long time customer once had stellar SEO rankings for multiple money keywords and long tail keywords in their industry.

For years, they owned search rankings with well-optimized pages and website in general.

In fact, this customer ranked so well across search engines that they didn’t have to participate in pay-per-click advertising although it would have been a benefit.

That all came to end after experiencing two failed SEO efforts and relationships with other companies.

In truth, all this customer wanted was establish their web presence as the number one spot in search rankings.

But is this not what we all want for our websites?

Over the last 10 years, the history of blogging has gained popularity and has been validated as a major resource to implement for people and businesses alike to rank well in search engines.

Blogging has allowed for many people and businesses to become credible sources and voices in their industry.

It’s been a great tool to gauge customer satisfaction, both good and bad.

In recent years, blogging has become the option for those looking to boost their SEO efforts.

More specifically speaking, guest posting and blogging has really caught on fire and gone viral.

If you’re not familiar with guest posting and blogging, you’ll definitely want to become and get intimately familiar with both and why are the talk of SEO content marketing.

If you watch the expired domain auctions as I do, you see a wide range of domains expiring regularly.

Some expiring domains are nothing to write about, while others are like finding a needle in a haystack.

So, what’s the difference between the two types of expired domains, you ask?

And in addition, how should you go about finding and buying expired domains of great value in terms of SEO and being competitively priced?

Chances are that you’re reading this post because you or someone you know has somehow lost their domain name and trying to exhaust all options to reclaim it in an expeditious manner.

Not easy, huh?

Whether a premium domain name, exact match domain, or brandable domain, it goes without saying that domain names are a crucial and mission-critical asset to any business or person and must be valued as such.

That’s why it’s extremely important no business owner or person can ever afford to allow their domain names to be lost, stolen, or expire under any circumstance.

It’s like losing oceanfront property or prime real estate in Times Square.

And once domains are lost, reclaiming lost domain names can be a very costly experience and nearly impossible.

But not to despair, you do have a few options and steps you can take to try to reclaim lost domain names.

I say try only because there is no guarantee that lost domain names can ever be reclaimed.

When driving more traffic and business to a small business website, most small business owners dread SEO much like the plague, especially when doing SEO yourself.

It’s been a fun-filled week of many activities, both on professional and personal levels. I’ve accomplished much, yet I have a ways to go with my personal projects as well as customer projects.

However, a good portion of this week has been spent keeping a watchful eye on the GoDaddy WHOIS verification and GoDaddy phishing email scam.

If you’re in the dark and confused as to what I’m referencing, I encourage you to read our post on the ICANN verification process and how your business can and will be impacted by it should you ignore it.

That said, I’m glad to report that my domain auto-renewals seem to be back to normal.  Also, I have not received a fake or phishing GoDaddy verification email.

But I’m not sure we’re yet out of the woods on this. I’m still going to log in each morning until I feel at ease that all is well with the GoDaddy domain auto-renewal system.

As for the WHOIS verification process, a little more information is coming to light about how to successfully update and verify domains with the “Pending WHOIS verification” status.
