Another “shill bidding, insider information” case took to the domain air waves yesterday evening as GoDaddy went public to air its firing of an employee participating in domain auctions.

Paul Nicks, VP and GM if the Aftermarket at GoDaddy, shared that a GoDaddy customer made “serious allegations” about the collusion of multiple employees in domain auctions.

From reading the article, it certainly appears that GoDaddy took swift action to precisely investigate the matter brought to their attention on March 11th.

Should domain investors seriously consider “sweet spot” domain investing as a viable strategy?

This very came came to mind as I watched, listened, and reviewed Paul Nicks’ — Vice President, Aftermarket at GoDaddy — NamesCon keynote: Domain Trends & Insights.

If you’re like most domain investors — whether old, new, or in between, then you’ve likely explored or considered a number of domain platforms or marketplaces to stake your claim the next domain “rags to riches” story.

And while most domain investors love the thrill of buying and the adrenaline of a good auction bidding war, most have passed on or been completely in the dark on prospecting tools to increase the likelihood of quick flipping a domain into fortune.

In a day when kids, and adults too, are often consumed with and by a sea of devices, I’m intrigued when encountering companies appropriately fusing STEM, Common Core, and relation-building skills.

Years come and go about as fast as one breathes the precious air of life, so I’ve been told.

While 2018 has sailed on by the domain industry, we’re embarking upon the journey we’ll come to know as 2019.

And just like my wild domaining predictions of 2018, I’ve had some time to think, research, and prepare predictions for what to expect in domaining for 2019.

Many domain investors learn to effectively manage their domain portfolios by trial and error.

I can tell you from experience that this method of domain portfolio management can get quite expensive to say the least.
