I awakened this morning to discover a video from longtime domain investor and pioneer, Rick Schwartz, in my Twitter feed. From the looks and sounds of it, Rick Schwartz is launching his next venture: vlogging.

It wasn’t long ago that Rick took a break from social media altogether. I don’t quite recall what ushered in this social media sabbatical, but it was likely due to the vitriolic nature of trolling that social media is known to produce.

Nevertheless, Rick had a break and returned to blogging in 2018. It wasn’t long after blogging that he returned back to tweeting this past February.

And if you thought Rick’s return to blogging and Twitter were something short of amazing, then you’re likely picking your chin up off the ground to discover he’s masterfully planned a soon-to-be SOLD OUT domainer meetup to be held in Asheville, NC in August. But if anyone is able to do it and be successful doing so, it would be Rick Schwartz.

Rick simply knows how to separate the message from the noise although he can be pinball machine at times — but that’s what makes Rick simply Rick.

While I may not agree with everything Rick does or says, no one is perfect, there is a level of respect I hold for Rick’s experience, especially when in regards to event management and organization.

With no sign of MERGE! or NameSummit returning this Summer or Fall, the Asheville Domainer Meetup is certainly on the radar of many — critics, fans, and everyone in between.

If this meetup is anything like the early days of the once famed T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Conference, then Rick has likely caught his second wind and re-birthed T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2.0. Only time will tell though…

For now, we’ll wait to see whether or not Rick’s vlogging — video podcasting as he references it — efforts turns into a full-on video series. We certainly know he’s not short on words and ideas when it comes to business, especially domain investing.

Stay tuned, that’s all for now!
