Stair stepping into the Domain Industry with Andrew Rosener

While many can and might share the namesake, when the name Drew is mentioned in the domain industry, there’s only one!

An often persistent personality that’s scrappy at times and outspoken most, if not all, of the time. He’s often perceived as a critically shrewd domain professional, yet just as generous and charitable.

There are not many that have shaped and continue to shape the domain industry like Drew.

Oh, and if you’re still in the dark on which Drew I’m referencing, it’s none other than Andrew Rosener.

He’s the Founder and CEO of MediaOptions.com — the #1 global domain brokerage company as well as the owner of The Domain Name Authority: DomainSherpa.com.

Recently Drew and I sat down for a much long-awaited interview (more my fault than Drew’s). 😬

Nevertheless, we traveled back down memory lane and journeyed from the bottom to the top to learn how Drew amassed a portfolio of 1,100 domains, yet never knew a domain industry existed.

But that all drastically changed one day having answered one phone call from GoDaddy reoriented the trajectory of his life forever, which Drew candidly shares.

We then discuss the importance of playing to one’s strengths as Drew shares his downfall in dabbling in domain development rather than focusing on domain investing and brokering.

Drew also highlights how he stair-stepped his way in the domain industry studying, networking, launching a newsletter, and simply doing what came naturally to him: dialing for domain dollars.

So tune in and glean insightful wisdom and guidance about what’s in the near future for digital expansion and its impact on domain names. Enjoy!
