Sports, Bet, Chain, and Block Top Verisign’s Trending Keywords Report for May

Yup, it’s the second Tuesday of the month and you know what time it is, right? That’s right! It’s time for Verisign’s Top Trending Keywords Report.

Moments ago, Verisign published to its blog May’s trending keywords registered for .com and .net domains.

With the news of legalized sports betting, I’m not surprised to discover “sports”, “bet”, “chain”, and “block” keywords were hot trends for .com and .net domain registrations during the month of April.

With many states signing into law legalized sports betting, New Jersey being the latest, this domain registration trend is likely to build as months pass.

Having a unsuccessfully chased a few news cycles early on my domain investing career, I’m not much of an ambulance chaser when it comes to registering “current event” domains.
