From a DJ spinning records to full-time domain investing with Jason Sheppard
In-person conferences (yeah, remember those pre-COVID) can sometimes feel like hundreds or thousands of people descending upon a single space with a common cause, yet as different as the east is from the west.
What a difference 12 months can make when considering relationships. One minute you casually pass by a stranger and neither one of you ever give a first or second thought to one another.
Then with a simple introduction, a meal, phone call, or email exchange, and you soon forget about what life was life before you both entered into one another’s story and life journey.
Little did I realize at the moment, but that’s how I met today’s podcast guest, Jason Sheppard. We both attended NamesCon’s 2020 in-person conference held in Austin, Texas. Of course, Austin is home for me, while Jason visited and attended his first NamesCon in-person.
In this podcast episode, Jason and I chat candidly about how attending NamesCon helped him to establish a relational network in the domain industry as a newcomer.
In addition, we talk about how COVID abruptly transitioned him from spinning records as a DJ to flipping domains as a full-time domain investor that manages cash flow through liquidation and installment payment plans.
Also, Jason shares how he partnered with a local businessman to create a domain partner portfolio, in addition to his personal portfolio of 7500+ domain names.
And finally, Jason compares and contrasts domain investing in 2020, and what’s to come in 2021, and what to watch for, including a sneak peek about the DNAccelator.com.
Listen to this podcast all the way to the end to find out more about how you supercharge your domain investing education, strategy, and networking.
