Domain Auctions Ending 5/20/2016

It’s Friday, and I hope your’s is as good as I plan for mine to be. For one, you can kick off your day reviewing Friday’s Bag Ole Domains.

In other news, we arrived safely in Port Aransas early yesterday evening (not a good pic, but I saw it and had to snap it… it’s the perfect geo domain). 🙂

Welcome To Port Aransas

And as always, traveling with two little people 3 and under is always an adventure, especially when the person bringing their pack-and-play doesn’t arrive until 11:30 pm and our little people are in bed by 8 or 8:30 pm.

This makes for a l-o-n-g next day.  Let’s just say it’ll be a lot of napping throughout this day, to say the least.

Nevertheless, all is well and we’re ready for family time, and some fun in the Texas sun on the beach.

Oh and before I forget, I have to share what we encountered just 40-50 miles before reaching Corpus Christi.

Of course, I’m always watching and on the lookout for domain name advertisements, whether on vehicles, billboards, businesses, etc.

Imagine how surprised I was when I saw a billboard advertising a business using a new gTLD, also known as a new domain extension.

MikeShaw.Auto Billboard

We attempted to capture a decent snapshot. It’s not clear, but hopefully it’s decent enough to make out. Hey, I tried. 🙂

The company advertising their services chose the .AUTO domain extension.  It was a bit weird to see honestly.

When I took a visit to MikeShaw.Auto, it’s nothing more than a single page entry point with links to 3 other dealerships that use .com addresses.

And just in case you’re wondering, MikeShawAuto.com forwards to MikeShawAutomotive.com, a completely different website owned by the same person/company.

Nevertheless, I believe they could have chose a more descriptive words or geo service to the left of the dot instead of MikeShaw.Auto.

In fact the following domains are available at this very moment:

Regardless, I think it’s interesting to see where all this new gTLD business takes us into the future.

What surprised me the most about my encounter was that we weren’t in a metropolis. We were in the middle of nowhere.

Will we began to see more of these new gTLD’s popping up everywhere throughout the world? Only time will tell, I guess.

I took many more pictures, so you can expect more stories to come in the coming days and weeks.

In the meantime, you’ll likely want to review and read the following domaining news and articles:

SearchDragon.com – Nice brandable domain for a search marketing or search and rescue company.

AllWebScripts.com – Brand a nice copy, paste, and share or download web scripts website using this domain. No bids at time of writing.

SearchEngineSolution.com – I might bid on this one, because I was outbid on the plural yesterday.

651314.com – I’ll have to re-read my post because I’m unable to recall off the top of my head what the meaning is of 1314.  But 1314 is considered valuable in China.  I do know that much.

GolfingAdvice.com – Still an okay domain although I’m not one for “ing”.

LegalHelper.com – In this litigious society we live in, you’re only one legal issue away from losing it all. We need all the help we can get.
