Domain Auctions Ending 4/2/2016
It’s Saturday and it feels like a bit of winter here in Austin. The weather is cold and a bit wet, but we’re supposed to warm up a tad bit (15+ degrees) more than yesterday.
And as usual, there’s always quite a bit going on here in Austin. This week is the 11th Annual Urban Music Fest, 89th Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, and the 11th Annual Austin Spring Home and Garden Show.
From a domaining viewpoint, I wish AustinHomeAndGardenShow.com would invest in shortening their domain to AHGS.com or AHGS.net. The could simply have the shorter domains redirect to the longer domain. They make more than enough to make a $6K and $1.6K purchase of respective domains.
I say this because I recently saw their most recent commercial airing the other night. I shook my head in despair when I saw the use of a too long domain name in small lettering (see second image).
They’re not the only one’s using a long domain name. For a few years, Urban Music Fest used AustinUrbanMusicFestival.com, but have since reverted to using the commonly said name and domain, UrbanMusicFest.com.

CommunityNewsletter.com – I read a monthly editorial called Community Impact. I’m certain someone or company will put this 14 year old domain to good use.
TheSocialStudio.com – Sequel to The Social Network gone wrong. It’s 7 years old with 7 bids at the time of writing.
FutureProducts.com – Back to the… wait, Forward to the Future it is now. This is the name to build a name for all the future products yet to arrive. 19 years old.
ValueTravelInn.com – My momma always told me be mindful of where I lay down at. Hmm… I’ll pass. 8 years old with 2 bids.
CleanVape.com – If it have vape, vapor, vaper or vapors in the domain, then it’s moving faster than the speed of light. 6 years old.
