Domain Auctions Ending 1/30/2016

I thought I was having a decent week coming of an okay staycation, and having only a two day workweek.

All was going well until around lunch yesterday. I walked out to go and meet and friend to find a screw in my 1985 chevy pickup’s tire (which is still there right now as I type). Fortunately, the tire had not lost air.

However, the bad news was that I forgot to put wheel lock back in the glove compartment of the pickup, or so I thought that was the bad news.

Truck ran hotWith the tire not losing air and time of the essence, I had a coworker who was joining us at lunch to follow me. About halfway to our destination, I heard an air sound as if the a tire was losing air. Just to make sure it was not the tire, I pulled over.

However, as I pulled over I noticed that the temp gauge shot from the left to the right as quick as Usain Bolt ran the 100 meter dash. With no time to spare, I quickly assessed the situation, thinking it was nothing more than a radiator hose.

It wasn’t until after lunch, that I figured out it wasn’t the radiator. I’m not sure at this moment what exactly the issue is, but my guess is that my water pump has gone out. And if I’m going to change it, I might as well change the hoses, belts, and power steering pump and its hoses too.

toolbox saturdayI didn’t have any plans for today, but apparently now I do. Oh yeah, did I mention my 1977 Caprice Classic’s carburetor has bit the dust too.

So, today will be a fun day of automotive troubleshooting for me. I’ll let you know what I find and how it all works out for me. I’m fortunate that I can work on both vehicles, and enjoy doing so… that is, when I plan for it. 🙂
