Where is GoDaddy’s Contact Domain Holder Link?
Attempting to locate an owner of a domain name you desire to purchase or connect with for whatever reason can be as challenging as finding a need in a haystack — to say the least.
Gone are the days you could easily use Whois to enter desired domain names and be shown registrant contact information such as phone, email, and address.
Of course, it only takes a few crazies in the world to show up at your door threatening your life over a domain name they think they’re entitled to own, having used Whois data to dial in your exact coordinates.
Nevertheless, GDPR and all the growing privacy concerns have ended rather than making it more challenging to view exact information and locate domain buyers. But all is not lost.
GoDaddy and many other registrars provide a somewhat obscure way to locate and connect with owners of a domain you desire to purchase: GoDaddy Whois.
However, the challenge with their service is to help you locate domain owners and lead you on a blind goose chase of circular references. How so?
Simply put, GoDaddy displays the following text for Registrant, Admin, and Tech email:
Select Contact Domain Holder to link at https://www.godaddy.com/whois/results.aspx?domain=desired-domain-name
The confusing part about this is the referenced link is the exact page you’re viewing. Enter the dog chasing its tail! 😀
What GoDaddy doesn’t clearly explain and should tell you is that you must scroll to the bottom of the WHOIS search results page to discover the Contact Domain Holder link.
Once the Contact Domain Holder link is clicked, the following form is displayed and can be completed to contact the Registrant, Admin, and Technical contact associated with the domain.
Well, I hope this clears the air and eliminates the frustration of those hoping to locate the domain owner your heart hopes and longs to own.
