Nearly 75% of single emoji domains registered in 2 days! What’s next?

It’s a new day, yet emoji domains are still trending and quite well too. In fact, it’s been another milestone week for emoji domains.

If you were fortunate enough to experience the initial moment Twitter caught fire and to purchase a single .to emoji domain because of it, then count it a blessing and hold tightly to your new emoji domains. Here’s why…

Single emoji domain prices, based on data provided by DNAcademy’s The Definitive Guide to Emoji Domains, are averaging approximately $1,350.

To date, there have been 14 emoji domain sales reported year to date totaling $18,725. Most reported emoji domain sales use the .ws extension with one of .to, .net and .com extensions respectively.

Of course, .net and .com no longer allow emoji domain registration for the time being (thanks to ICANN). 🙂 But that’s not the case for the .to extension, which is the country code for Tonga.

This week’s release of the newest emoji domain registration engine, 😄.to, has stoked yet another digital gold rush.

At the time of this writing, 1,060 out of 1,432 .to single emoji domains (not taking skin tones into consideration) have been registered. That’s nearly 75% of single emoji domains registered in under 2 days. Amazing!

Not bad numbers (see below) for Register.to and Marc Köhlbrugge, founder of 😄.to, especially if you were one of the lucky ones to snag a few and yet to realize a profit.

And if you didn’t or haven’t taken the time too buy an emoji domain, time is running out and so is the quality of available single .to emoji domains.

In fact, at the moment, there are only 372 .to single emoji domains available (not taking skin tones into consideration) with the following breakdown:

  • 35 People
  • 7 Animal and Nature
  • 1 Food and Drink
  • 19 Activity
  • 26 Travel and Places
  • 26 Objects
  • 112 Symbols
  • 146 Flags

I encourage you to visit 😄.to to review and register available emoji domains. You can also visit and purchase emoji domains at Register.to.

This is one of those situations where you better buy while supplies last. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

However, this doesn’t mean that other registries won’t dip their toe into the emoji domain madness.

Based on Marc’s numbers above and below, other ccTLD registries might open their emoji domain flood gates in hopes of generating as much revenue as Register.to has thus far.

Nevertheless, it’s still early as owners of emoji domains collectively identify and explore various sales avenues in hopes of realizing a handsome profit.

In short, there is money to be made buying, selling and using emoji domains for the personal and company brands aligning and executing a sound emoji domain marketing strategy to the their respective needs.

But based on this week’s $1,500 emoji domain sale of .to by @Claim, .to and other emoji domain extensions in general are looking to have a very bright and profitable future.

A bit more time will have to pass to find out whether or not emoji domains reach or surpass premium prices as shown in the image below from the .to website.

At $45 annual rate per .to emoji domain purchase, emoji domains appear to be an investing opportunity worth speculation, especially should reported sales continue in frequency and increased value.

But who knows what’s next for emoji domains? I certainly don’t, but will be eagerly watching the emoji domains Twitter thread for the next turn of events.

For now… Hurry on over and get what you can, while you can! That’s all for now…
