Podcast: gTLD Investing, Development, and the Future of Domains With Bill Hartzer.

Almost a full decade since the “new gTLDs”, now simply referred to as gTLDs, have made their dubious debut in promising to offer exponentially more domain options than that of saturated legacy domain extensions — so some think.

While many arguments have been made for and against the release of gTLDs, there have been just as many cases made for and against investing and developing the same domain extensions.

bill-hartzer-podcast-interviewIn a recent podcast, I had the pleasure of discussing gTLD investing, development, and the future of domains names with long-time Technical SEO Consultant and Domain Name Consultant, and founder of Hartzer Consulting, Bill Hartzer.

I’ve followed Bill and his work online for quite some time, having met in person at DNHouston Meetup in 2017 as he shared a plethora of SEO and Domain insight.

In addition, Bill has actively engaged in the development of gTLDs, measuring and reporting his results across a few gTLD case studies: .Cars, .Diamonds, .Attorney.

And as timing would have it, Bill recently published Top Level Domain Bias in Search Engine Indexing and Rankings (with full PDF of results)! 👏🏾

Tune in as Bill and I discuss the ins and outs of gTLD investing, development, and the future of domains names in general, and how social networks are attempting to dethrone the importance of a domain name. Enjoy!
