Domains, Depression, and Redemption with Anita Walker

The domain industry is quite small compared to most industry and market segments. It’s mostly been a male-dominated industry, lacking ethnic and gender diversity.

However, the industry is growing, reaching and connecting with new audiences that look, live, and think differently than the status quo western-centric domain investor.

Many domain investors are popping up around the globe, making not only a name for themselves but transfiguring their lives as they master buying and selling domain names to create generational wealth.

But with everything in life, buying and selling domain names is full of ups, downs, twists, turns, and everything in between. You win some. You lose some. And then, some are simply a draw.

We rarely hear about these stories, if ever, but this is not true for today’s podcast.

Today’s podcast guest, Anita Walker, knows a thing or two about the hard knocks of life and how to bounce back from deeply battling depression to realize a life that only dreams are made of.

For those unfamiliar with Anita, she’s based in India. She is a long-time domain investor and the Founder and CEO of SmartWebby.com — a consultancy providing startup consulting, design and development, and marketing services to global clients.

Most recently, Anita and I chatted about the ups, downs, twists, turns, and everything related to her personal and professional life as a daughter, mother, and entrepreneur.

In our time together, Anita discusses the path to accidental domain investing, her rookie pricing mistake leading to a three-year sales drought, mastering SquadHelp.com contests to sell domains, and how one unassuming compliment from a domain legend helped her overcome depression.

This is truly an amazing show, and I can’t thank Anita enough for being transparent and vulnerable to share her personal and professional struggles.

Hit play and journey with Anita and me as we talk domains, depression, and redemption. Enjoy!
