How to Set Up a Custom Domain for Podbean

December 21, 2018 No Comments
Written by: Alvin Brown

When I started my journey podcasting, I knew not one thing about podcasting. I had no clue how to prepare for a podcast, how to find guests, how to achieve an optimal mix, how to record a podcast, or how to host a podcast.

Thank goodness technology has come a long way from the days of having to invest tens of thousands of dollars in the latest equipment to record and host audio and video files on a server and having to custom development a player to support playback.

Imagine how excited I was to discover how easy it was to record a podcast using Voice Memos app when flying solo, and then Zoom.us or Skype when virtually interviewing parties of one or more.

Then, add in a user-friendly hosting service like Podbean — podcast publishing and monetization service, providing free and premium hosting packages for individuals and businesses — that fully integrates publishing, management, syndication, and analysis tools.

10 Tactics to Determine Best Price for Domains
Written by: Alvin Brown

Attempting to figure out the best price for a domain name or portfolio is quite comparable to trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Most domain investors are often blinded by domain sales anomalies produced by the bigger personalities of the domain industry — Schillings, Berkens, Schwartzs, and Roseners.

And if not jaded by domain legends, then most domain buyers and sellers often try to hang their hat on the tree of domain appraisals as just and fair pricing.

This couldn’t be further from the truth as you’ll soon learn when listening to my latest podcast episode: 10 Tactics to Determine Best Price for Domains.

How important or critical is having a sitemap for a website? Extremely important if you ask me.

The obvious current day need for a website sitemap is more so for SEO purposes, specifically search engines crawling the sitemap.

In fact, submitting one’s website sitemap to search engines is one of the first actions to take when launching a website, especially if you desire good ole’ SEO love for Google.

Nevertheless, one of the things likely forgotten or simply done away with is the use of a human-readable HTML sitemap.

Jewelers Direct Aims to Reach New Markets with a “Gem” of an Emoji Domain
Written by: Alvin Brown

While still in its infancy, “emoji marketing” is gaining steam as each day passes, and a growing number of personal and corporate brands are adding emoji to their marketing toolbox and strategy.

From Hubspot to Visme to Neil Patel to “The Emoji Experts”, all of the aforementioned personal and corporate brands see no end to emoji marketing, having published their own emoji marketing guides, predictions and case studies.

As millennials $200 billion buying power grows, not including Gen Z’s influential buying power of $153 billion arriving to the market, emoji marketing is poised to reach unprecedented proportions of revenue for personal and corporate brands.

Not only are tech-related companies making good use of emoji to reach and serve more companies, but longstanding industries, such as the jewelry industry, are rolling up their sleeves and establishing their brands using emoji too.

If you’re like me and you find yourself using Apple Notes via your iPhone to craft content (like this article you’re reading right now!), then you’re often wondering about the word count.

And if you’re really diehard, then you’ll be consumed with character count (with and without spaces), number of paragraphs, total line count, and estimated reading time too.

There are a number of paid and non-paid choices for discovering word count of content.

However, I’ll share with you my favorite app when using Apple Notes to craft articles via my iPhone.

It’s crazy to realize the Internet is a little over 30 years old. Although I date myself when saying I remember life before the Internet and email, the invention of the Internet has forever transfigured how we live life and do business.

In some ways, the Internet has brought us together. In other ways, not so much.

Google AMP Search Rankings
Written by: Alvin Brown

Mobile-friendly websites have been the talk of the town for some time now.

In fact, Stone Temple reports that mobile usage jumped from 57% in 2016 to 63% in 2017 while desktop usage is steadily declining year-over-year, going from 43% in 2016 to 37% in 2017.

And if those numbers hold true, we’re only months away form discovering that likely over 70% of internet users favor their mobile devices when viewing websites.

So, what does all this mean for your website?
