GoDaddy promotes new domain name extensions.

GoDaddy promotes new domain name extensionsFirst, it was 1And1.com and their new domain name extensions commercials, and now GoDaddy has hopped into the mix promoting new domain name extensions.

I received an email notifying me that new domain name extensions are coming. It’ll be interesting to see how many small business owners and the general public understand Godaddy’s email in its most basic form.

You will now have a chance to create a new domain name since the .com domain name you’ve always wanted is owned by someone asking an arm and leg for it or has it parked with funny colors and links on pages.

So, for example, you will have the opportunity to own WomensClothing.shop, WomensClothing.online, WomensClothing.luxury, WomensClothing.blog, and WomensClothing.web since you can’t own WomensClothing.com.

As expressed in Godaddy’s email, the new domain name extensions will open a door of greater opportunity that never existed before. I think GoDaddy did a reasonably good job trying to simplify the tsunami of new gTLDs, or, as called by everyday people, new domain name extensions set to hit the domain market by the end of this year.

16 Companies “Domainating” Google Search Results

16 Companies “Domainating” Google Search Results
Written by: Alvin Brown

I’ve long heard that Domain Authority (DA) is more important than ever.

Apparently, as of late, SEO experts Brian Dean and Glen Allsopp have both cosigned this statement (if you will).

If you’re not familiar with either Brian or Glen, then take a moment to read up at Backlinko.com and Detailed.com respectively.

But I digress.

In a recent article posted by Glen, “How 16 Companies are Dominating the World’s Google Search Results”, he reveals how the perceived and varying range in Google search results is controlled by a handful of large corporate conglomerates.

Glen poses a very good question for all to consider, especially should a brand survive from garnering traffic from the ol’ great Google:

“Are the Google rankings I aim to get for myself and my clients actually controlled by just three hands full of companies?”

Going Above and Beyond in Domain Portfolio Management — Jebidiah Burnett

Optimal, profitable management is the key to almost any and everything thriving and growing with abundant life.

Such a statement is quite critical to the domain industry, specifically critical for domain investors with sprawling domain portfolios.

If only the rule of thumb were that profitability and a domain portfolio’s sprawl were in direct relationship with one another, then life would be a dream. But the reality is that not all domains and domain portfolios are equal.

With a myriad of strategies to assemble new or purchase existing domain portfolios, one of the most critical considerations to be made before one begins is a bonafide method to manage one’s way into sustained profitability.

Very few people realize consistent, profitable success when entering into the domain industry, specifically domain investing.

And even fewer persons can greatly capitalize and realize substantial rewards by developing services, tools, and platforms for domain investors to use.

The list is few in comparison to the number of domain investors that have come and gone their way, as well as the current domain investing ecosystem.

The Domain Investor That Sold Ruby.io for $88K — Joshua Schoen

Remember when the new gTLDs — general top-level domains — came on the scene nearly a decade or so ago, and how they were going to be the nail in the coffin for legacy domain extensions — .com, .org, .net?

Well, that didn’t happen. However, what did happen was that quite a few people lost hundreds and thousands of dollars gambling that they would.

Extensions like .vip, .rentals, .forsale, .realestate, and the list go on as long as a hot summer day in the desert.

Now, this is not to say that profitable success hasn’t been realized along the way. It has but by very few people, both buying and selling new gTLDS.

The 50/50 Approach to Bulk Domain Portfolio Investing with Deepak Daftari

Most domain investors enter into domain investing having to work hard learning the ropes of the following:

  • Assessing which niches and TLDs best align with their personal and professional experiences
  • How to identify undervalued domains of the aforementioned option
  • When and where to buy and sell domains
  • How best to prices domains competitively and profitably
  • Why and how best to assess which domains to renew

This barely scratches the surface of all the varying factors at play to becoming an astute domain investor with a legitimate business and not a labor-of-love hobby.

Many have tried their hand at buying and selling domains only to realize it isn’t as sexy as it appears or is made out to be. It’s a craps shoot, or is it?
